I was born and bred in Glasgow, Scotland and before I had to retire I loved to go hill walking (not mountaineering, not brave enough!).
I love the mountains, the scenery, the real ale,and steam railways. Apart from some ten years in Rhodesia I have lived in Scotland all my life and feel very deeply about the place. I enjoy holidays in England especially Lincolnshire as I've got some very good friends down there and it's handy for York and Lincoln where there are plenty of subjects to paint.
I also have some very good friends in Northern Ireland where I recently spent a very happy holiday - there are some new paintings as a result.
