| Doug Craner Doug Craner was born in London in 1957 to a service family. His early years were spent in the Far East and Wiltshire. In the late 70's he moved to Pembrokeshire to work with a group of artists. There he exhibited in group and one man shows. He was awarded a prize for book illustration by the late John Piper. He also worked on the reconstruction of Castell Henllys and produced a series of illustrations for that. He also did a piece for the Hendon aviation museum which is stored next to 'Totes Mer' by Nash. He moved to Ireland and painted prolifically while raising a family and building a house from the ruins strewn around his land by the coast. He currently divides his time between Scotland, England and France. Themes from his childhood and his interest in Celtic cosmology recur in his work.
