HADIA MOIZ
My work is all about myself. I took a contemporary image, the coconut,
and I depicted it as myself when my work was on track but later I have
used other imagery too in my paintings.
All the metaphors I use describes me somehow and the things going around
me or to those people who see my work and try to find themselves in the
painting, for the reason that I'm sure everyone has parallel brand of
hidden or open stance as I have. As I have used the coconut because that
is what people sense about me, as for that, I say don't go for the surface,
see what is inside. Since the coconut is thought of as rude or hairy or
rigid by it's exterior, but it has another verve inside which we get to
know when we open it. It also describes the inner and the outer self,
how they are following each other, confronting, conflicting and and somewhere
confused. Similarily, I' ve used the water a lot in my work which depicts
the life including leaves, pistle, flower, and etc. Each imagery has its
own significance for me and likewise for the viewer no doubt.
Hadia lives and works in Pakistan.
