Artists Comments: Awaji Island is south of the city of Kobe, between the main Japanese island of Honshu and the southern island of Shikoku, It is surrounded by three seas: the Inland Sea in the west, Osaka Bay in the east and the Pacific Ocean in the south. The southern coast is sparsely populated, with steep cliffs, rock-strewn shores and dramatic skies. On clear days there are maginficent views of the island of Shikoku in the south.
