Tim Habeshaw
During my medical career colleagues would sit beside me at meetings
to observe my doodling. On retirement I decided to learn to draw and joined
a local art group, attended tuition classes and also demonstrations. I
was soon guided into painting and gravitated towards acrylics from watercolour.
I still paint regularly with watercolours to encourage a little discipline,
but take more delight in the freedom of acrylics. My abstract paintings
are textured and many layered because I work on the principle that the
more layers applied the more likely fine detail and a pleasing appearance
will emerge eventually. This is on the monkeys, typewriters and Shakespeare
principle.
